Kustom Kulture - Social Network
Hello Rockabilly Worldwide! I am Dollie DeVille, also known as the Rockabilly Socialite. I am a vintage lifestyle blogger who also dabbles in pinup modeling, vintage clothing sales, emceeing, TV appearances (most recently staring in TLC’s Wives With Beehives), spokes-modeling, and being an all-over personality! I am also the co-founder and president of the Honeybee's vintage ladies club. We uphold and promote the "woman skills" of a bygone era by meeting routinely to craft, sew and bake. Outside of these hobbies I also work a full time job! I am one of the busiest people I know, but I love it that way.
I started the Rockabilly Socialite in April of 2007 to document my life and all of the rockabilly shows I was attending. I never thought it would become as popular as it has! It has become one of the most popular rockabilly blogs in the world! While writing this post I googled “most popular rockabilly blog” and my blog was the #1 result. Pretty cool!
I will try not to have duplicate content on this forum and on my blog. Since this page has people all over the world I won’t be posting about shows and events located in LA. For that please check out my blog. On this page I would eventually like to focus on more general topics then specific things related to my life. Although, initially I will post about myself so you can all get to know me. I would love to hear your input about what you would like to read here. I think I may start at the beginning, meaning how I got into rockabilly and how it consumed me so. I really think rockabilly saved my life, so I will try and get that point across without being too sappy.
I am not sure how active this page will be, so I am not sure at this point how often I will be posting. In the meantime keep up with me on my blog and on my facebook fan page!
XOXO
Dollie

Comment by Dollie the Rockabilly Socialite on February 10, 2013 at 5:20am Joshua- Thanks! Wives With Beehives was a 1 hr special that aired on TLC last December. It was supposed to be about how me and 3 other ladies live a vintage lifestyle, but the network turned it more into a reality show like Housewives of OC, only vintage. It was a big disappointment and so far hasn't gone anywhere else.
that vintage lady club is a really cool idea, without ideas like that and people implamenting them the culture would day..so its super awesome you do stuff like that..please explain the "wives with beehives show.".ive never heard of that.
